Adverse action claim lodged by Channel 7 newsreader

Newsreader for Channel 7’s Weekend Sunrise program Talitha Cummins, has lodged an application to the Fair Work Commission for adverse action by her employer. Prior to returning from parental leave, Channel 7 advised she would not be returning to her pre-leave position. Instead she was offered a position as a weekday early morning newsreader, which Cummins claims was not feasible given she has recently had a child and her partners work commitments. The matter is expected to go to a conciliation before the Fair Work Commission later this month.
