Illegal Strike Action: Unions fined.


A series of illegal strikes back in 2011 have cost two prominent construction unions $430,000. The strikes began after union officials encouraged construction workers across a number of job sites to down their tools and walk off the job to protest “sham contracting”. Admission and co-operation from both unions saw the fines discounted.
